Employer Engagement Lead

EmployAble is growing and is looking for an exceptional Employer Engagement Lead to help build the employer partnerships that will make this possible.

The Role:
The Employer Engagement Lead will be responsible for developing relationships with employers and creating new employment opportunities for people supported by EmployAble. This is a relationship-driven and outward-facing role. You will identify potential employers, open doors, understand their business and recruitment needs, and develop relationships that lead to genuine employment opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Employer Development
Identify and research potential employers across a range of sectors.
Proactively approach employers and develop new relationships.
Build a strong network of employer contacts.
Arrange and lead meetings with prospective employers.
Understand employers’ businesses, workforce requirements and recruitment challenges.
Identify opportunities where EmployAble can add value.
Develop employment opportunities that meet genuine employer needs.

2. Building Partnerships
Develop strong, trusted and sustainable relationships with employers.
Act as a professional and knowledgeable representative of EmployAble.
Develop partnerships that can generate multiple employment opportunities over time.
Maintain regular contact with employer partners and identify opportunities to deepen relationships.
Encourage employers to become more confident in recruiting and supporting people with learning disabilities and autism.
Introduce employers to EmployAble training/consultation that can support the development of neuroinclusive policies or attaining a Disability Confident kitemark.
Work with employers to identify practical adjustments and support that can enable successful employment.

3. Creating Employment Opportunities
Work closely with EmployAble’s Employment Advisors to understand the strengths, aspirations and skills of people seeking employment.
Identify potential roles and opportunities that could be a good match.
Develop opportunities through a reverse-marketing approach where appropriate.
Introduce candidates to employers and support the development of appropriate opportunities.
Help employers understand the benefits of inclusive recruitment.
Support the transition from employer interest to a sustainable paid employment opportunity.

4. Employer Relationship Management
Maintain accurate records of employer contacts, opportunities and relationships.
Ensure that employer commitments and opportunities are followed up promptly.
Develop an effective pipeline of prospective employers and employment opportunities.
Monitor progress against agreed targets and objectives.
Gather feedback from employers and use it to improve EmployAble’s services.
Maintain relationships with employers after placements to support sustainability and future opportunities.

5. Employer Support
Introduce employers to idea of contributing philanthropically to EmployAble’s work either sponsoring the work up required for an individual to get a job or sponsoring a social enterprise project.

6. Representing EmployAble
Represent EmployAble at employer events, networking opportunities, conferences and meetings.
Develop EmployAble’s profile among businesses and professional networks.
Deliver presentations and introductions about EmployAble to employers and other stakeholders.
Contribute to employer-facing communications, case studies and promotional material.
Develop networks with business, recruitment and professional organisations.

7. Team Working
Work closely with Employment Advisors, Job Coaches and the wider EmployAble team.
Share information about employer opportunities and candidate profiles appropriately and securely.
Contribute to team meetings, planning and service development.
Share knowledge and good practice with colleagues.
Support the development of EmployAble’s employer engagement strategy.

8. Safeguarding, Equality and Professional Standards
Work within EmployAble’s safeguarding, confidentiality, data protection and health and safety policies.
Promote equality, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of the role.
Maintain professional boundaries when working with candidates, employers and other stakeholders.
Ensure that information about candidates is handled appropriately and confidentially.
Undertake relevant training required by EmployAble.

Person Specification

Essential Experience
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate experience of building relationships and creating opportunities. This may have been gained in one or more of the following areas:
-Sales or business development
-Recruitment
-Account management
-Employer engagement
-Partnerships
-Customer relationship management
-Corporate or community engagement
-Employment services
-Another role involving significant external relationship-building
Previous experience of working with people with learning disabilities or autistic people is desirable but not essential

Essential Skills and Experience

-Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport quickly.
-Able to build credible and trusted relationships with employers.
-Comfortable communicating with people at different levels of an organisation, including senior decision-makers.
-Able to maintain relationships over time and turn initial contacts into meaningful partnerships.

Business Development
-Able to identify and pursue new opportunities.
-Confident making telephone calls, sending introductory approaches and arranging meetings.
-Able to understand an organisation’s needs and identify where EmployAble can add value.
-Commercially aware and able to understand the pressures and priorities facing employers.
-Persistent and proactive, with the ability to follow opportunities through to completion.
-Comfortable working towards measurable objectives and targets.

Communication Skills
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-Confident presenting to groups and representing an organisation externally.
-Able to explain complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
-Able to adapt communication style to different audiences.

Organisational skills
-Highly organised and able to manage multiple employer relationships and opportunities simultaneously.
-Able to prioritise effectively and follow through on commitments.
-Comfortable maintaining accurate records and using CRM or other relationship-management systems.
-Able to work independently while contributing effectively to a team.
