About Employable:
EmployAble’s vision is to create a world where autistic adults and adults with learning disabilities who want to work, can succeed in paid employment – including those excluded from the workplace for years and those with more complex support needs.
The Role:
The role provides the first point of contact for EmployAble’s candidate.
You don’t start with what someone can’t do.
You start with the person – Their interests. Their strengths. Their ambitions. Their motivation. And then you work out what is possible.
You work creatively with employer partners to identify opportunities within vacant roles which match the candidates’ talents.
Once a match is agreed, the final piece is to support the new employee’s induction, training and ongoing supervision to ensure safe, successful and sustainable employment.
Key Responsibilities:
– Completing a vocational profile assessment for each allocated candidate.
– Working with employers to develop person-centred roles or candidates, ensuring that individuals are matched based on skills and experience.
– Identifying reasonable adjustments required and developing a support plan for the candidate
– Supporting the candidate to apply for an Access to Work grant when required.
– Training and supporting autistic individuals and those with learning disabilities, business co-workers and families to ensure successful integration into work.
Duties
– Work directly with an agreed case load of candidates to meet target outcomes.
– Work with employers to identify opportunities within vacant roles which match the candidates’ talents;
– Offer support to employers to mitigate concern and risk;
– Offer training and consultancy to employers to embed a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion.
– Once job has been identified, breakdown the job into specific tasks to create the right match and develop a job coaching plan.
– Fulfil the job coaching plan, either by providing direct support or arranging for an EmployAble Job Coach to fulfil this role.
– Actively promote sensible health & safety by being a positive role model.
